The waiting room gives moderators a checkpoint before participants enter the session. When enabled, participants wait in a lobby until the moderator admits them one by one. Moderators and co-moderators can also edit a participant's name while they are in the waiting room — see how to do that here.

This article covers the following topics:

1. Enabling the waiting room
2. What participants see in the waiting room
3. Admitting participants into the session

Enabling the waiting room

Recruiters and project managers can enable the waiting room when creating a session.

1. On the project page, click Create new session.

For more details on creating a session, see this article.

2. Enter the required information.
3. Turn on the Waiting room toggle.
4. Click Create.

What participants see in the waiting room

Before reaching the waiting room, participants need to enter their name and password, and grant camera and microphone permissions.

You can share this article with participants for step-by-step guidance.

Once in the waiting room, participants stay there until the moderator admits them. While waiting, they can test their microphone, camera and speakers.

Admitting participants into the session

1. Go to People tab to view the waiting room.
2. Check the box next to the participant's name to admit them.

3. The participant will appear in the participants list once they have joined.
